This 1964 Griffith is actually the prototype car and was the first to get a V-8 engine. Consequently this car was used for much of the development. Very cool! This car can be seen on the Vintage circuit primarily on the east coast.

Completed Project:

In for an engine rebuild. Engine was apparently new and only had one race on it. Most likely I'll just be re-doing the short block.

Update:

To repair the engine properly it was completely disassembled down to every oil gallery plug. Cam bearings were removed and discarded. This was necessary to be sure there was no chance of hidden debris. The crank was turned and re-heat treated. Obviously all new bearings. Re-used the remaining components. The block received some special treatment as do all small block Fords to try and improve the oiling system as much as possible. Due to time restraints I was not able to dyno test it.
